As an Iowa State University student, you have licensed access to a large variety of software and online resources. Here are the software and programs that may be particularly relevant to you. Please visit the ISU IT website for a comprehensive list of software available for you.

- Microsoft® Office 365 for Windows & Mac can be downloaded for FREE.
- Microsoft Windows Operating System
- Microsoft® Windows® Operating Systems are available for Iowa State University students through OnTheHub. Requires an active ISU email address.
- CyBox (Links to an external site.)
- CyBox is a place where you can store and share files for your own use and collaborate with others.
- Features:
- 50GB for students, faculty, and staff.
- Simple sign-on with your ISU Net-ID and password.
- Anywhere access, including mobile devices.
- Meets all university standards for security and privacy.
- Integration with Microsoft Outlook and Office programs.
- Keep your account for life even after you leave Iowa State (must convert to a Box.com account prior to leaving)
- Learning and Working Remotely
- Webex Video Conferencing: Up to 1,000 participants, maximum length is 24 hours and can be recorded.
- Webex Events: To host webinars, allows up to 3,000 attendees and includes chat option).
- Zoom: Up to 50 participants, limited to 40-minute sessions.
- With either, participants can join in using desktops, mobile devices, or telephones.
- Virtual Private Network (VPN)
- VPN's are helpful if you wish to secure your computer when you're using a public Wi-Fi connection. Connecting to the Iowa State VPN creates an encrypted tunnel between your computer and the Iowa State server. All your internet traffic is routed through this tunnel, so your data is more secure along the way.
