WELCOME HIGH SCHOOL TEACHERS AND STUDENTS

Hello! My name is Rahul Parsa, and I’m the director of the actuarial science program at Ivy College of Business, Iowa State University.

We recently started a new undergraduate major in actuarial science. To raise awareness of this program and the career path, we are hosting an Actuarial CYence Career Day for high school students and teachers.  This event is co-sponsored by Gamma Iota Sigma and the Actuarial Foundation's Modeling the Future Challenge (MTFC) organization. 

During the event, your students get to meet with practicing actuaries and learn about the actuarial profession. They will learn how actuaries approach data science, mathematical modeling, and risk analysis.  They get to meet with university faculty, current, and former students and learn about Actuarial Science Program!  In addition, they get to review past MTFC training scenarios, and get help in identifying their own project proposal. 

 A limited number of $500 busing grants are available.

By bringing your students to this Actuarial Cyence Career Day, you will give your students a taste of college life and help prepare your entire class for success in the Modeling the Future Challenge!
