Who will be your Academic Advisor?

The HCI Graduate Program Coordinator, Tiffany Kayser, will serve as the advisor for all MCHI and Certificate students.
She will be your main contact person for any and all questions, monitor your program process, and help with any situations that may occur.

About Your Degree Program

Course Delivery

The majority of courses will be online asynchronous course delivery.
If a student enrolls in an online synchronous course; the live lecture will be listed on the student's class schedule with the day of the week and time that a student will be required to attend.
HCI Graduate Students will access their courses through Iowa State’s Learning Management System: CANVAS
- Students will have access to recorded lectures, assignments, projects, discussions, and other items in Canvas.
- At the start date of each semester/term, a course might not be seen in Canvas right away. As long as the course appears on your class schedule, you are enrolled, and the course will appear in Canvas once the instructor has set up student access to it.

Academic Expectations

Grad College Policy: 3.0 GPA is MANDATORY
- Required of all ISU graduate students. This is a grade of B.
- C grades OK only if cumulative GPA is 3.0 or higher
- Grades of C- cannot be used toward your degree requirements. The course will need to be retaken.
Academic Probation policies – if GPA is below 3.0
- Students are not allowed to register for classes
- The HCI Graduate Program can request permission to register.
- The request is repeated for each semester GPA remains under 3.0
- Grad College approves repeated requests if progress is OK
- Students are not allowed to graduate.
